Need really cheap laptop with serial cable

I need a laptop to use with my wideband. I have an old compaq but it doesnt have a serial cable. The serial to usb adapter costs like $65 which is more the comp is worth. I just need something REALLY cheap with a cd drive and serial cable. Im talking like $50 cheap. The program i think is pretty small so it doesnt need much speed or memory. Or if someone can tell me how to use the o2 out wire to log it via my palm then that would be great also.

I have an old laptop that I was using for DSM Link. I have no use for it anymore because I bought something new. I dont know anything about it, except that it's one of the old school laptops that doesnt have a battery and would need to be ran off of a power inverter. It boots up and goes pretty quickly since I only had dsm link on it. Let me know if you're interested, I could take pictures of it if you want.

It also has a cd drive right? Hmm i think i have a power inverter somewhere but im not sure. If i do then ill probably take it. Otherwise i dont feel like spending more money to get one. Anyone have a cheap one that runs off a battery? Ill ge back to you Jess. Thanks

Yes it does have a cd drive. I have a power inverter somewhere that I used with it. I'll look around for it. If you decide you want it, I'll throw that in too.
