R32 Turbo Volkswagen Gets Hurt By Rusty Old Gaylant.

A week or so ago I was bringing my wife to pick up her car from the dealer and I see an R32 VW pulling out from a driveway. I recognized the car as it belongs to a kid around here and I see it in town a lot. Whenever I would pass him and his buddies hanging out they always looked at my car sideways since it has none of the markings to give it away as a GVR4 anymore plus it has a spoiler-less trunk on it :twisted: . However, its got a full 3" exhaust and cams so it idles rough and makes some noise. I guess they used to wonder if it was fast but now they KNOW it is. He has an exhaust and it looked like a FMIC when he pulled behind me so I assume he had a turbo kit and some other work into it. He followed about 1/8 mile behind me for a while until he recognized who was in front of him (I guess), then he started riding my ass but there was another car in front of us so I was like "whatever". Fortunately the car in front turned left at the beginning of a long straightaway and we all had to slow way down. I threw it in second, revved it a couple of times, let out the clutch and punched it. He was even with me but once that SCM61 spools it's like the hand of God came down and shoved me down the road so I put about 5 cars on him quickly. I pulled all the way to the top of third (about 90mph) before I gave in to my wife's demand that I slow down :lol: . By then I had around 20 cars on him and that's no exaggeration, he was a good 300-400 feet back again. He turned off so I gave him the stutterbox but I haven't seen him since to ask him what's wrong with his car :oops: . The best part was that he had one of his buddies in the car with him so you KNOW he's catching shit for it. I wasn't gonna bother posting it but since this forum is dead right now and some one commented about "NO RACES" I figured I'd post.

You sure its a twin-turbo? I doubt the kid has the HPA twinturbo kit on it. I know theres plenty of single turbo r32's running around. Thats nuts if it is though man, nice!

Stock? they come with a v6 stock. thats it. Ive seen a turbo one at waterfest in the parking lot, it was blue, might have been the guy you raced. If i had 100k to shell out id buy an r32 and send it to HPA for their twinturbo big brake wholy shibangabang, shit, 0-60 in less then 3.5 seconds, 200mph+ top speed while being able to lean back in your leather seats and ice cold ac? thats what im talking about.

Yeah, it's NA + AWD V-6 from factory so I guess he had a turbo kit on it. I guess he needs a bigger turbo than that kit comes with so old POS Mitsu's don't shit all over him! Oh, I edited my first post to correct my ignorance of the VW's drivetrain.

They DO sound pretty freaking mean from factory. They sound like the new M3's at wot.

Vw's aren't that bad. Atleast the old ones aren't. You can find alot of sciroccos/corrados and mk2/mk1 gtis and jettas running strong with 130k+ miles on them. The new (mk3 and mk4) vws though... that a whole different story... shit, I bet if you farted in the damn car the check engine light would come on. :roll:

Are you sure it was an R32? 20th Ann editions look just like them but they're 1.8t's.... Did it have the dual exhaust? the 20th ann editions don't.

Not saying that it's not possible, but then again it's hard not to notice the mean sounding 6cyl under the hood. Anyway, EIP makes a single turbo kit that will put those cars in the low 300's to 600+whp range. The drivetrain can take it as well so they're pretty mean ass cars if you ask me. The 02M transmission has 2 final drives, 1 for 1-4 and the second for 5th and 6th.

yea...EIP Tuning + VW's and Audi's = NO JOKE. EIP's project cars are simply disgusting. They are a tad on the expensive side, but a lot of R&D went into their products and are top notch.

WOW! Way to bring it back from the dead! It was definitely an R32, it had the dual exhaust and I've heard/seen it a million times driving around my town. All I know is it had a decent sized FMIC in the front bumper opening. You have to keep in mind, my car is no slouch either, I went 11.9@116 in full street trim (spare tire, jack, baby seat, pump gas, full exhaust) while having misfire problems the whole day, Luke can attest to that.

Was the car red? Last few times I went up to Nanuet(you live near there right?) there was some spoiled rich kid w/ a red r32 TT. Said he had his shop "design" their own TT kit for it? W/e. The kid is fuckin rich though. His dad used to come up there with his white Ford GT! Sick car. Father like son though, they were both morons. Kid said his car would walk his dad's GT. And the dad's car's foglights already started fogging up. When we asked him if he knew why, he said: "oh its probably just heat coming off the engine". :lol: :lol: :lol: Engine's in the back jackass! Everybody standing around laughed right in his face! He didn't even understand why?

Nah, the car is blue, almost like the Nogaro (sp?) that the S4 Audis are. I hear he's a cool kid and is just a working schmuck like most of us but he definitely picked the wrong 4 door to fuck with that day.

That will seriously beat about 80-90% of the few turbo R32's out there.

Just making sure that it was a real R32, they're really sweet cars that are still selling for close to their MSRP as new.

TT R32's put down 450whp, 0-60 (3.8sec), 1/4mile 12.3

Highly doubt you were pulling him by 5 cars let alone 20. Could have been a supercharged R32 with an aftercooler which also much more common then a TT R32. Never the less, im sure your car is fast. 11.9 is faster then 12.3.

I just informed the people about the R32 and said congrats to the guy with the GVR4. Not my fault that guys put 16g's in their cars drop in here saying that VW's suck just because they're able to produce 300+whp now.
